THE LADIES CIRCLE

The Ladies Circle

There is a tradition of the coming together of women to mend socks, knit pullovers, make quilts. A time for ladies to spend in the comfort of their circle, together to create, to sing, to read, to talk of the fundamental and the profound, to indulge in relaxed discussion that offers advice or seeks solutions.  This has always attracted me. There is no competition, just the exchange of knowledge, of crafting skills, sharing laughter and the cause of tears. Like women do, we talk it all through graciously, reinforcing the social bond that weaves the hearts of families into a web of shared support and respect. It is this common bond that keeps us light, happy and pretty.
I have more material than I can use and more ideas than I will ever develop.  What better therefore than to share it all with ladies who, like me, enjoy learning and making together in a creative circle.

Friends and friends of friends, near acquaintances and new enthusiasts are invited to step into this adventure, to create and inspire in a small group, to find new skills and new certainties in designing and making. We ladies spend time with our hands, touching, observing, smelling, combining materials and enjoying colour. Our circle is a relaxed afternoon of improvising, discovery, delving into the new and unknown with no pressure to make it "right".

Wenjin Jiang, my near neighbour, avid enthusiast and outstanding craftswoman and jeweller now joins me in these circles, bringing new skills, new techniques and gentle encouragement. We very much hope you will join us too.

There is no cost for joining our circle, but you may be asked to bring materials that you enjoy, or tasty nibbles that we all may. Please contact me by phone or email for more information on forthcoming dates.
